Hanging Around

I thought today was going to be a bit low key.  We started the day just going to the gym and came back and did some yard work but then I thought it would be fun to climb the Magnolia tree in Sara's yard.  It's almost ready to bloom!

Sara climbed a little too:

and Frankie and I became friends, although I think I got on his nerves a little.

Then we went to fly a kite.  It was a dragon kite Sara named Elena.  It was very windy but for some reason we couldn't seem to get Elena very high off the ground.  I guess our kite flying skills are a little lacking.

Running and getting cozy..

What a crazy time we've had these past couple of days!  Yesterday morning we had to get up really early to go run a race!  Sara's mom overslept a bit so Sara missed the Young Run but Sara ended up doing the Junior Run instead.  She was the youngest one in the race but she managed to go 2.78 km carrying me the whole way!

Here's a little video of us running:

After the race we drove up the Hershey, PA to visit Sara's aunt and we went to the Taste of Hershey and watched Sara's cousin play in the Jazz band.  It was a dreary day so unfortunately we didn't get any pics.

Today, we just hung out with Sara's aunt in the morning and then came back to Maryland.  I was so tired but Sara and her friends made a nice comfy bed for me.  They all cuddled up with me and made me feel so cozy.  Thank goodness I am finally getting some rest!

Maryland!

So I finally made it to Maryland!!   Sara and Cori welcomed me with open arms.  Syd and Jen gave me some easter goody bags to give to my new friends!  They were much appreciated although Sara was a little envious of Cori's pink egg.

Sara was anxious to get a pic in with my now famous 'hang around the neck pose'   Then she discovered I have velcro on my hands!

Brrr.. it's cold here!  I was so glad to get out of that box and into a nice warm house.  It's supposed to get down to 26 degrees tonight.  This after it was almost 70 yesterday?  Apparently I did not bring the warm weather from Florida.... but they tell me the weather in Maryland changes a lot from day to day.  Sara's dad built a fire to warm me right up and Sara thought it'd be nice for me to get cozy by the fire and I must say I agree!

Anyway,  I just found out it's spring break here!!  I can't wait to see what we are going to do this week although I am still just a little bit tired from running around looking for easter eggs and going to Disney World last week!  I miss Sydney and Isabella a bit too.  We had so much fun together.  Sydney if you read this give Isabella a hug and a kiss from me.  Off to bed with me for now!

Off we go to Disney. We headed over to DownTown Disney so Sydney could show Miles around. We had a great lunch at Rainforest Cafe where Miles met his distant cousin named Isabella. Miles wondered where she got her purpleness from, we told him she comes from PurpleLand. It's an Island off the coast of Costa Rica where evrything is purple. lol..They had a blast together..Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Sydney even took Miles and Isabella on a train ride, what fun they all had!!!Photobucket Photobucket

Miles is a great friend..

Sydney has some sort of virus that has caused a fever and such and so she just slept on the couch most of today, Miles has been with her every second checking on her to make sure she is ok, what a great friend.

We were so excited to take Syd and Miles to a Wine and Seafood Festival but Syd just isn't feeling up to it. No Festival today, sorry Miles:(

The Adventures of Miles and the Reedells....

Wow... what a fun week (ok, it was a bit more than a week) we had with "Miles the Monkey".  He arrived in our mailbox and brought smiles to MANY faces!!  I should have been posting the ENTIRE time he was here, but alas, I will just post one LONG entry into the blog!!

We welcomed Miles to PA on a VERY cold and snowy day!!

He was already "used to" the cold since he was with Sarah and Jude a bit north of us for the past week or so!  The girls didn't see me open the package, but as soon as I had Miles' head pop out of the package, they both squeeled with excitement.  I had told Angela about the "Miles Project" a while before, but had NO clue when we'd have in our home, but to our surprise, he was here, and we couldn't have been happier to have him here!!

I took him out for some pictures at our house before the girls' were even awake from their naps.

As soon as Miles made his appearance, the girls wanted him to meet ALL of the members of the family.
Angela was the FIRST to hug him!

Then they introduced him to Jake (the cat)

then to Oscar the cat....

then Ollie (the bunny)

then to our fish "silver and yellow"

After all the formal introductions were taken care of, the girls wanted to take Miles our sledding.  So, we bundled him up in a nice blue scarf and hat, and out they went.

Everyone had a good time sledding, and then when they came in, Miles settled down in our sunroom with a nice cup of "tea" (prepared by Elyse) and then cuddled under a blanket with a nice "book".

Every once in a while we'd find him "hanging out" in our ficus tree...

On saturday morning, we headed off to the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus.  We had GREAT seats and the kids and Miles enjoyed the animal acts especially!!  I think Angela even tried to feed him some cotton candy - Elyse kept it all to herself!!

Miles rode with us just about every place we drove, mostly in the hands of Elyse.  He went to Elyse's mommy and me classes, tot-r-cise, and slept with Elyse almost every single night.  She was getting VERY attatched!!   We feared the day that Miles would have to go visit another Junie until we remembered, Miles had a "cousin" named Niles up in Angela's room (my parents' brought the monkey back from the San Diego zoo for her a few years back).  They look very similar, but Niles is a darker brown.

So, they (Miles and Niles) chated and got to "know each other" and best of all Elyse will have a monkey that she can keep forever!!!

To keep himself in shape during his travels, Miles decided to borrow "Nordi" for a while (that's what I call my Norditrack...)... you should see those budlging muscles now... hot monkey!!

The weather began to change last week, and finally it was feeling like spring.  We headed to the park for some outdoor fun - NO scarves or hats needed this time!!  Miles got to swing and slide till his little heart was content... and VERY tired.

He also got to experience a Chuck E Cheese birthday party (one of Angela's friends).  He rode some rides, and almost got dropped into the cake... but we saved him and he was unscathed!!  He enjoyed the jungle gym... and wanted to stay, but all good things have to come to an end...

Then that brings us to today - the last day of Miles' visit.  Miles' visited Angela's school and got to meet her pre-k teacher (Mrs. Dearing),
and Angela kissed him goodbye!  No doubt the little monkey will be missed by MANY Reedells!

Bye Bye Miles... the Reedells will miss you!!

Then Elyse and I went home to get him all "packed up" and ready for his treck down south.  We included a little note, made a "pillow" and blanket to keep him comfy... and then took him to the post office!!

So, that was our week (or so) of fun with Miles... it was a GREAT week had by all!!  Can't wait to see what Miles does next!!
